Building Permission

We are happy to announce that we have received the building permission for The Friendly Factory in the northern part of Berlin. The single family house consist of a wooden extension on top of an existing brick building in the former East Berlin. The shape of the roof is designed to optimize the daylight of the house positioned in the shadows of a row of old and tall trees.

The construction is expected to start Autumn 2019.

 

Location: Berlin-Pankow, Germany.

cycladic architecture greece danish design white cube coast beach house

Building permission

We are happy to announce that we have received the building permission for our first project in Greece, a summer house at the coast of the island Kythnos. The Island is situated in the northern part of the Cycladic archipelago, famous for its vernacular white cube architecture.

The construction is expected to start summer 2019.

Lövtag Treetop Hotel Sigurd Larsen 15 exterior landscape

Building permission, Løvtag

We are happy to announce that we have received the final building permission for the treetop hotel Løvtag in Denmark. Throughout 2018 the local zoning plan was renewed to allow the construction of the  project, and the building permission issued afterwards. The construction team has been prepared so they are ready to start next week.

Sigurd Larsen Greece cycladic architecture Kythnos

Sigurd Larsen Design & Architecture is commissioned to design a house on the island Kythnos in Greece. The Island is a part of the archipelago the Cyclades in the Aegean sea. This area is famous for its vernacular white cube houses. We are looking forward to work with the unique architecture and landscape the Cyclades.

Today was the topping-out ceremony for The Mountain House in Austria. The construction of the house is excecuted by the local building company Holzbau Hurth.

During the 16th Architecture Biennale in Venice we will exhibit two projects in the European Cultural Center Palazzo Mora.

The topic of the exhibited projects is sustainable housing in densely populated cities and user interaction. It’s all about wood.
