Sigurd Larsen Design & Architecture is an award winning practice based in Berlin. Since 2010 the studio designed and built houses, hotels and public schools in Denmark, Germany, Austria, France, Greece and New York. The most recent projects are the Michelberger Farm, a hotel south of Berlin as well as The Lake House, a sports- and seminar building in Berlin. Along with being widely published in international magazines and books, the firm’s work has been exhibited at the Biennale di Venezia.

A contemporary sustainable translation of vernacular architecture has been the guideline through most of the built projects. In any given physical and cultural context, the local knowledge of how to build in a specific climate is an essential source of inspiration.
